Specimen Validity Strips

Specimen Validity Strips provide a fast dip-and-read test to detect diluted or adulterated urine specimens. In one step, the strips perform semi-qualitative analysis on urine specimens for seven parameters on six reactive pads:

  • Creatinine - A common form of specimen tampering and dilution
  • Nitrates - Class of chemicals not found normally in human urine that can be introduced by additives such as Klear
  • Glutaraldehyde - Class of chemicals not found normally in human urine that can be introduced by additives such as Clear Choice or UrinAid
  • pH - Acidic or alkaline adulterants in urine
  • Specific gravity - Testing for the viscosity of urine
  • Oxidants and PCC - Oxidizing reagents such as bleach, hydrogen peroxide and pyridinium cholorochromate
